Code of Conduct

Welcome to Our LUG South Community!

A friendly guide to keeping our community safe, creative, and fun.

Our community is a place for LEGO® fans to connect, share ideas, celebrate creativity, and enjoy the power of play. Whether you are showing a new build, joining a discussion, or cheering on another fan, we want this space to feel welcoming for everyone.

How we build a great community together

  • Be kind, respectful, and welcoming.
  • Share feedback in a helpful and constructive way.
  • Celebrate different ideas, building styles, and backgrounds.
  • Keep conversations friendly, positive, and focused on play.

Keeping things safe and respectful

  • No bullying, harassment, threats, hate speech, slurs, or discrimination.
  • No spam, scams, impersonation, disruptive behaviour, or attempts to get around moderation.
  • No sharing someone else’s private information or posting photos or videos of children.
  • No phishing, malware, unauthorised access, or behaviour that puts our platforms or members at risk.
  • No illegal, violent, self-harm, nudity, or sexual content.

Protect privacy

Please keep personal information private. This includes full names, addresses, passwords, phone numbers, unique identifiers, and private images. Only share photos or videos of other people if you have their consent, and do not post images or videos featuring children.

If something doesn’t feel right

If you see content or behaviour that does not follow these guidelines, please report it. Reports help us keep the community safe. To report an issue or make a complaint, email : lugsouth.committee@gmail.com.

Safeguarding

LUG South is committed to providing a safe, respectful, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone involved in our community activities. Our Safeguarding Policy explains how we protect children, young people, adults at risk, volunteers, members, and visitors by setting clear expectations for safe behaviour, event practice, privacy, reporting concerns, and responding appropriately when issues arise.  To access the document click on the link below:

Complaints 

LUG South Complaints Policy Statement

LUG South is committed to providing a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all members, participants, volunteers, officials, and visitors. We take complaints seriously and view them as an opportunity to improve our practices, relationships, and services.

All complaints will be handled:

  • Fairly and impartially
  • As promptly as possible
  • With respect for confidentiality and privacy
  • In accordance with principles of natural justice

No person will be disadvantaged, victimised, or treated unfairly for making a complaint in good faith.

LUG South encourages people to raise concerns early so issues can be addressed constructively. Complaints may relate to behaviour, decisions, processes, safety, conduct, or any other matter connected to LUG South activities.

Where appropriate, complaints will be managed informally. More serious or complex matters may be managed formally and, if required, referred to appropriate governing bodies or external agencies.
